Originally from Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta, Uzezi grew up hearing stories from her mother about how oil spills destabilized her community. These early experiences fueled her passion for activism, inspiring her to use her social media skills to promote environmental action. As a communications and digital expert, she is dedicated to supporting Oceana’s social media outreach to protect and restore the oceans.

Her background includes managing social media for high-profile events, streamlining press operations, and leveraging data analytics to enhance campaign effectiveness. When not working to save the ocean, Uzezi supports equity-deserving groups in media and television.
