Marine animals that glow in the dark

Did you know there are numerous marine animals that can glow in the dark? It’s true! These animals are able to do so thanks to a phenomenon called bioluminescence. This phenomenon occurs when light is produced by specialized cells in an organism’s body. Animals use bioluminescence to warn predators, lure or detect prey and communicate with each other.
